Define the rule with the site team
Identify the equipment to review, the relevant work zones and the times the rule applies. A loading bay, visitor route and production line may have different requirements. Document these distinctions before collecting evaluation footage.
Assess visibility before counting
Distance, posture, partial obstruction and similar-looking clothing can affect results. Include both expected equipment and difficult examples in the pilot. If the image does not show the relevant body area clearly, treat the result as uncertain rather than automatically compliant.
Keep people in the review loop
Use detections to support existing safety supervision. An image cannot establish whether all protective equipment is suitable, correctly fitted or appropriate for a task. Review the evidence before any intervention, and agree a fair correction process for mistaken results.
