Collect camera and recorder model numbers, approximate camera count and the views you want to use. Analogue cameras may be accessible through a suitable recorder or encoder. Identify limitations individually before deciding which equipment needs changing.
Check access and image suitability
Review authorized stream access, codecs, resolution, frame rate and network capacity. A stream that opens successfully still needs enough visual detail for the intended task. Plate capture and wide-area people detection may require different camera views.
Define deployment and handover
Agree processing hardware, software licensing, secure access, recording retention, operator training and support arrangements in writing. Document configuration and recovery steps so the system can be maintained after installation.
